Normally, they should last a least a few weeks to a few months if the main battery is dead. If the main battery is dead I've had mine work fine 6mo+ later. Your battery could just have lost it's charge most likely. Go to Maxims One Drive where he has all firmware version and go to the SDS100 folder. Download the file "SDS-100_V1_10_00.bin" and "SDS-100_SUB_V1._02_01.firm" and put those files on the SD card in the firmware folder. Most newer computer USB ports supply 1A. Check with your motherboard manufacturer or PC maker. The micro can be used to power only. The mini powers and will charge simultaneously if enabled. There's no issues I found plugging in both while charging or not. Uniden BCD536HP, BCD436HP, UBCD536PT, UBCD436PT, SDS100 (/E), SDS200 (/E) , USDS100 or UBCD3600XLT using the USB cable (supplied with scanner). Virtual control (ARC536PRO only) may require an additional connection to the GPS/serial port. See this document for more information. Oct 27, 2020. #1. Four days after Uniden's repair warranty expired, my SDS100 died again! As best I can tell, it's the J401 board issue . . . I've got a call in to Uniden's repair shop in Texas to see if they're willing to extend the warranty to re-repair the radio, but I'm guessing that isn't likely to happen..
